Hi there! I'm currently attending school at Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy and I start taking clients in a couple weeks and want to start getting all my supplies together to be able to do classic and traditional style men's cuts with hard part/razor part included! So, I was wondering if you could recommend a decent straight razor for me to begin with? I'm very excited to start mens cuts and want to have the right equipment to be able to execute a phenomenal cut!
Well I don’t like to use razor parts. Comb it right cut it right and educate your client how to part hair correctly. Razor parts grow out ugly. If you have to razor part by request don’t use the clippers. Just part it perfect and nip away hairs to get a very fine line. I always try and talk clients out of razor parts as I have many clients that come to me with razor parts and decide to grow it out and part it with a comb.
